Stronger Together: Sharing the Good Works of WCCD
Stronger together!
Something exciting is happening in the West Central Coast District #1240.
WCCD leadership is moving forward with a vision for a stronger, more connected District — one where our 12 Lodges have another place to share their successes, support one another, and make sure the good work being done throughout our communities is seen.
Every day, Elks across WCCD are making a difference. We support Veterans. We invest in children and families. We provide scholarships and youth programs. We serve people with disabilities through the California-Hawaii Elks Major Project. We recognize our first responders, celebrate Americanism, strengthen our communities and step forward when someone needs help.
Those stories deserve to be told.
Our new WCCD website is being developed to give our Lodges another way to do exactly that.
Your Lodge’s Story Still Starts at Home
We encourage every Lodge to continue sharing news, events, photographs and accomplishments through its own website, newsletter and social media.
Then, let’s share those stories with the District too.
When a Lodge has a story already published on its website, we can highlight it on WCCD1240.org and link readers directly back to the Lodge website for the complete story. That gives the Lodge additional exposure while helping District members discover what their fellow Elks are doing.
And when a Lodge doesn’t have its own website — or simply has something it would like the District to help share — WCCD1240.org can provide another outlet for getting that story out.
Why Sharing Matters
Twelve Lodges can accomplish a tremendous amount individually.
Imagine what happens when we begin intentionally amplifying one another.
A successful project in one Lodge can inspire an idea in another. An upcoming fundraiser can reach Elks outside the host Lodge. A community-service success can demonstrate the impact of Elkdom far beyond the community where it happened.
And when we consistently tell those stories, people outside our organization get to see something our members already know:
Elks do incredible things in their communities.
This isn’t about competing for attention. It’s about creating more of it.
The more we celebrate one another, attend one another’s events, exchange ideas, share successes and help tell each other’s stories, the stronger every Lodge — and our entire District — can become.
12 Lodges. One District. Stronger Together.
WCCD1240.org is still growing, and so is the vision behind it.
We look forward to having every Lodge in West Central Coast District participate by sharing its events, accomplishments and good works. Together, we can create a living picture of what Elkdom looks like throughout our District — not simply what we say we do, but what our members are actually accomplishing every day.
Because when one Lodge succeeds, we can all celebrate.
When one Lodge has a great idea, we can all learn.
And when 12 Lodges support and amplify one another, West Central Coast District #1240 flourishes together.
