Tags Help Your Story Travel Further

When you submit a post to the WCCD #1240 website, tags help connect your story to everything else happening throughout the District.

Think of a tag as a label that answers: “What is this story about?”

If your Lodge holds a Hoop Shoot, for example, adding the Hoop Shoot tag connects your story with Hoop Shoot posts from other Lodges. Someone interested in Purple Pig, Veterans Service, Scholarships, Membership, Americanism or another Elks program can easily find related stories across the District.

Using tags is simple:

1. Choose the tags that best describe the main subjects of your post.
2. Select existing tags whenever possible rather than creating new ones.
3. You don’t need a lot! A few accurate tags are more useful than tagging everything that is mentioned.

Your Lodge category tells readers WHO the story is about. Tags tell them WHAT it’s about.

That small step does more than organize the website. Over time, our tags create a searchable history of what WCCD #1240 and its Lodges are accomplishing — allowing today’s story to remain connected, discoverable and useful long after it was originally posted.
